Much of today's popular culture steals pieces of skateboarding because of what skating represents in fashion and media.  While this spotlight is deserved, it’s unwanted.  Skaters are champions of the underground and desire to keep it that way.  They don’t skate to be seen, they skate because they can’t live without it.
